About
Our Mission
Our mission is to enable teens to support vibrant, diverse communities in the Washington, DC metro region by providing local, community-based nonprofit organizations, small businesses, minority-owned, and woman-owned businesses with free website design services to help them thrive in the digital age.
Our Story
Brothers Kai and Evan conceived of NextGen Web Design after watching many of their favorite restaurants and other establishments close during the COVID-19 pandemic (we'll miss you, VÜK Pizza). Having created many websites in the past for fun, they formed NextGen as a nonprofit organization to help local businesses reach additional customers and stay afloat. In addition to helping businesses and community-based organizations, NextGen teaches middle and high school students how to design high quality websites for clients to earn student service learning credit. The NextGen leadership team is part of Squarespace Circle, Squarespace's partner program for design professionals. Kai and Evan also have experience creating websites on Google Sites and Wix for businesses locally and across the United States.
